Hey guys i recently got a Tomos a3 not A35...and i've done a few things to it such as 70cc airsal kit, 15.15 SHA carb with 72 jet, and 22 teeth rear sproket, and biturbo pipe, as the bike sits it reaches a top speed of 45 MPH but i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on how to get this bike to a top speed of 60 MPH and being some what reliable except for the clutches i know those will melt. so any suggestions?

They will be OPEN ENDed from now on....,i hope. That just one less failure i might avoid as i " moe-z " down the beaten pathway ! That dern TOMOS done informed me, not to ever mistreat it , or anything else, that has a circlip wid a round " wire type " profile, as you have before!!! One thing the tomos did not tell, was wether or not me and the dremel/cut of wheel was any real solution to gettin rid of the broken and flying DEBRIS that may later on (keep in mind, this is all hypothetics ) rear its head.. DREMEL = problem solver ?? It is possible i'm wrong. This time, i don't stink so.

Bought a dellorto 15.15 Sharon my ouch and the idle screw is on the other side? Makes its impossible to tune the ideal. Any ideas?

so heres what happened - i had a kitted maxi with a 70cc kit, 19mm carb, black boss exhaust. completely ripping perfectly. went about 48 mph. all rebuilt engine and stuff.

So here I am, returning it to stock minus the black boss pipe and a high flow air filter. my question is, i have it all assembled correctly, but it seems like the original bing 12mm carb doesn't like the air filter or the exhaust.

i have tried up jetting from 70s all the way to 80s and it still wont accelerate past 20. its like something is stopping it. i am wondering what people think the problem may be. i have tried 2 different 12mm bings. im pretty sure the problem lies with the carb, there arent any air leaks, all gaskets are good, engine is clean, piston is clean...

i am wondering if people think i should up it to a 14mm bing or what? i have tried so many things and im at a loss. im literally just trying to do stock with the black boss and high flow air filter. i dont know why im having such a problem.

Here I spent countless months trying to fit a kinetic Cdi coil with a Parma kit Cdi And now with two separate engines converted back to points,I am finding that if I shoot with a strobe timing light with the bike on the center stand I get about 10
Degrees of retard with acceleration. So I guess that the explanation is if the interval from points opening to actual spark production is fixed, when the engine is spinning at twice the speed or more, the spark comes closer to tdc. Ok dos this makes sense but is this true or a pile of s..t?

By the way with .015" gap I'm getting only about 11 degrees before tdc. I'm going to open the points and see if I can get the degrees at wot right because Now it's too retarded..

And no I'm not using resistor plug, wire or cap as far as I know.

Would a 70cc kit hurt my 2003 Tomos A35? And what exhaust would add more power and speed than my old bi turbo

I've got a stock cylinder A55 with a custom 19mm intake, 19mm carb, MLM Cali pipe, all port matched of course, stupid long gears and it's all bolted to a heavy as funk Streetmate frame. I ditched the oil pump junk and am currently running 40:1 fancy $$ synth premix. I use the bike as primary transport during the warmer months and it sees 20 minute sessions at full load and wot, rarely does it spend time idling.

So my question - Is the 40:1 mix ratio acceptable in this case or can I safety lean it?

So if a overbore kit is goodly for speed, now many more bores can I have in the cylinder before the higher number of horse torques will ruin my crankspindle? I already have a new clutch embozinator so it should be able to take it when the mixture starts to implode.
Will I have to use a expansion chamber exhause to cool the gas rapidly as the kinetic and thermal energy is absorbed. I am wondering because if this makes the gas pressure drop, and the piston might be sucked too strongly towards the top of the cylinder. Would I be better to have a squish band or would the solid band be sufficient?
I dont want the resulting unbalanced acceleration to produce a driving force that would be is resonant with the vibration of the crankshaft, I would rather keep it balanced to reinforce its motion.

I'm trying to determine if my 1987 Tomos Bullet TT is running lean or rich.

I purchased this moped a few weeks ago and took it to my local motor sports shop for a tune up. They changed the fluids, spark plug, tires/tubes, etc.

I switched the stock exhaust with a Biturbo exhaust and upjetted it from the 51 jet to a 54 jet. I'm not convinced that the 54 is the right size jet, but with my inexperience with mopeds, I can't tell if it's running lean or rich.

I uploaded a video of the Tomos running to YouTube. There is a distinct change in sound when the throttle is wide open, you can hear it at 39 seconds and at the 46 second mark in the video clip. Disregard the rattling of my chain cover.

I appreciate your help!

76 motobecane 40T

After 10 i'm fine. I'm just wondering what I can adjust to have the bike pick up quicker.

I should also mention I'm using a plastic gas tank on my back rack and using about 2.5ft of fuel line.

Having run many gear ratios over the years, I find myself switching every so often (just for different feels, experimenting, etc). What is your favorite gear ratio, and why? (hills, flats,etc) What engine RPM range do you peak with that ratio?

Has anyone had any experience with the TOMOS parmakit's. Has anyone tried using the teflon 45mm piston on treats with it? What where your thoughts? Where there any issues with spacing the cylinder out?

I know that the TJT is direct bolt on for a pa50ii however it is expensive. does anyone here sell pa50II notched variators or recomend it cost wise over the TJT? I know some people window their variators too...

Looking at the treats 70cc puch read kit and the suggested head with O-ring...
My only experience with o-ring gaskets is that alone they really don't seal completely. Also I would think they're just eventually melt. Anybody have any experience with that kit or o-ring head gaskets in general?

Someone told me there is a post that had everyone's jet settings on there performance mods.

I have a garelli NOI with a polini 70cc kit a PHGB 19mm carb and
garelli NOI EV racing chrome circuit pipe. It's 4 stroking on the top end. Looking for others with similar setups to understand what jet's there using.

I havent taken my carb apart yet. So I dont know what jets are currently in it.

OK I have a puch maxi with aftermarket ebr forks non hydro but with lower legs. The guy wrecked hard and bent upper chrome tubes. Treats is out of replacement tube and I was curious if I can simply install pug 103 complete legs into the beer triple trees. I know the steering heads are different lengths but can I remove and fit left and right legs? By the way front wheel looks like a taco. Ouch!!!

the idle speed on my Fa50 is way to high, resulting in my cylinder smoking. with such a high idle, is it running lean? I checked for air leaks and couldn't find any. been fiddling with the carb screws and still nothing. What could it be? is it dangerous to run the bike with such a high idle rpm? thanks

Hey guys, been a while, decided to stop ducking around and get my bike together. The one thing that deterred me from getting it done was the carb sitch. I have a vm16 that I just couldn't seem to tune. The idle idjust screw vibrated out some time ago as well and since I can't find a replacement short of buying a new carb or machining my own. I am wondering if I should pick up an SHA 16.16 instead? I also have a vm20 kicking around, but a) it's heavy as sin b) it would need a funky intake adapter. Or should I stick it out with the vm16?

Setup: matched stock av10 cases, Artek K1, Malossi 50cc GR1 kit and head, gianelli pipe.

PS. what happened to the tuning spreadsheet? Seems like most of the moby info was nuked.
