Two somewhat related questions if I may.
I am trying to get up to speed on rebuilding and maintaining my 3 Puchs and have gained a wealth of help and info in the last few months here so thank you all.
First off I have a compression checker but it seems to read high as my newly kitted ZA50 reads 225psi with me peddling it on the stand The aquish is measured at 1.1mm with solder.

Is this the proper type of gauge to use?
Second, somewhat related question. If indeed its that high I am thinking of adding a base gasket. The piston outside edge now, with no base gasket, is slightly below the bottom of the exhaust port, the crown is of course raised well above it. If I add a gasket it will raise the cylinder so as to make it even further recessed. Will that cause some disruption in the exhaust flow?
Thanks,
Tom
