Hello all,
i am new to the message boards but use it for any help or troubleshooting with my moped. Generally, my success rate for help is at 95%, but I now have come across the 5% where I need to post and look for help from my fellow mopeders.
Doing my due diligence, i came across this thread in which the last post was in 2008:

Eight years later, maybe someone has made a phenomenal discovery to cure my remedies.
Last year I purchased a 1979 Honda PA50II. All summer I used it and had no issues. As the owners manual stated, I reached a max of 27 mph and was satisfied. After doing research all winter, I decided that I need an increase in speed so I purchased a Proma Cirtcuit pipe, Boyseen reeds and new petcock. For the Proma upgrade, I purchased jets 82, 85 and 88.
As a disclaimer, I live in Milwaukee, WI since that can have an effect on the jets. Once I slapped everything on with an 88 jet, the moped started but bogged when I fully turned the throttle. The moped was performing the best at half throttle and was getting me up to 25 mph. The next step I took was to remove the air filter since I though maybe I was running rich, and hence I got up to 27 mph at half throttle.
Now, everything becomes repetitive. Replaced the 88 jet with the stock 78 and same occurrence happened. Bumped it up to an 82, same thing happened. Moped ran better at half throttle without the air filter but bogged at WOT. Also, since the Proma is so damn loud, I have a difficult time determining if the moped is four stroking or not. With the stock exhaust, it was much easier to determine.
So my fellow mopeders, I would gladly take any advice to get my PA50II running. Thank you.
