So the arrow is supposedly for pointing toward the exhaust. I had the engine built this way and it was not running right and there was quite a bit of sludge upon teardown, including on the top of the crank case. Other factors contributed to that which i will remedy, but my question is in regard to the arrow direction on the piston.
I took a picture of both the orientations of the piston, with the single and double sharpie lines indicating the piston ring groove pins. In the arrow-exhaust direction, one of the lines is right inside the intake port. In the reverse, both lines are clear of any windows. Is this supposed to be arrow-intake rather than arrow-exhaust???
